Man’s Manipulation and Menace

Good morning!

Because of the clouds we cannot see the beautiful bright round moon today. Yesterday the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists moved the “Doomsday Clock” a minute forward, to five minutes before Doomsday.

Like the radiation rain pours constantly, adding up to the amount of radiation spread by atomic bombs that have been dropped and tested. Murphy’s law says, “If it can happen, it will happen.” A seismologist said, “It will happen at any time.” We can say, then, that the clock is a second before Doomsday.

Mishaps, disasters, or terror attacks on nuclear reactors or bombs at hair-trigger alert may happen any moment. This is due to our attachment, aversion, and agnosticism. We are constantly creating irreparable damage by nuclear radiation and piles of death ash.

It is better to have the full moon, the awakened mind – even with the wintry air – than to have the dark clouds of radiation raining – even with a little warmth, comfort, and convenience – as a result of our manipulation of nature, man’s menace, beyond anyone’s control.
