People came to know the falsity in the system and now want to change it all over the world. People are having the common global action day on Oct. 15 (Japan, Europe: http://p.tl/rKTL). If this worldwide movement doesn't succeed, we may be down in catastrophe. If the present system continues, the our life system cannot. I have been to the Missouri Zen Center many time over the past few years. Sitting in Zazen and being instructed to meditate in a peaceful manner is one of the most enjoyable experiences that I have witnessed and experienced. Also the Dharma discussions are of tremendous importance. Buddhism teaches that craving and desire causes all suffering, and that the root cause of suffering is ignorance. ( The Four Nobel Truths ) Being free from cravings and desires is a major part of the path to enlightenment. There are so many cravings and desires that obviously lead to bad karma that only a person who is caught in an illusion could not see them. My interests are Zen, Theravada, Quakers , Mahayana , Pureland Zen , Chan . I have friends of different religious backgrounds and different beliefs . I have participated in Peace Activism on several occasions. I am a member of Veterans For Peace and have been to the Occupation St. Louis occupation of Kiener Plaza. I like www.buddhistchannel.tv for Buddhist news. There are several streaming Buddhist Television and Radio site online, I could pass those on to those who are interested. But quiet meditation and focus and teachings are more important than internet, television or radio. Thank You Rosan for such kind words.
