Thanksgiving for All

Good morning!

Today is Thanksgiving Day, when we give thanks not only to harvested food, but to the whole life support system.

Its origin was the thanksgiving of early immigrants for their survival from hunger and death, thanks to food and provisions given by the native population.

Today’s top NY Times editorial is titled “The Poor, the Near Poor, and You.” It says that one out of three Americans live in poverty and that the trend is toward more poverty.

Its origin is in the pyramidal system. We must give thanks to buddhas, bodhisattvas, mahasattvas for saving us from hunger and death, and from all samsaric sufferings.
