Good morning!
The Dharma of Dependent Co-origination requires everyone awaken and act on all for all, esp. politics, because it is the determining factor of the world to the doom or the Dharma (universal truth/ethic for all to live).
Terentius said, “I am human, and I think nothing human is alien to me.” This expresses the Mahayana spirit and bodhisattva attitude following the Dharma of Dependent Co-origination, in the limitlessly interrelated world.
Gandhi said, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” We must change ourselves to awaken to the Dharma, act on it, wakeful of all around us, improve things in political, economic, social, cultural matters.
If not, it is not only irresponsible, but complicit with dictators, governments, etc., because we are related in many ways in electing, paying tax, etc., not stopping their wrong doings, but leaving them further going down for all.
Speaking out wrong doings, stopping them, is not against the precepts, especially they are on wars involving killing, stealing, lying, raping, etc. Moral and ethical or the Dharma teachings are universal and paramount.
In the limitlessly interrelated/relative world we should not let a single person, or a small group decide crucial matters like war, nuke, eco or the systems allowing this. We must co-exist, co-operate for a better world.

縁起の法は、すべての人が目覚め、すべてのために行動することを求めています。特に政治においてそうです。なぜなら、縁起の法（普遍の真理・倫理）は、この世界が滅亡へ向かうか、法（全ての命が生きられる普遍の真理・倫理）へ向かうかを決定する要因だからです。
テレンティウスは言いました。「私は人間である。人間的なことは、私に無関係だとは思わない。」これは、縁起の法に従う大乗の精神と菩薩の態度を表しています。この世界は無限に相互関係しています。
ガンジーは言いました。「あなたが世界に望む変化に、あなた自身がならなければならない。」私たちは自分自身を変え、ダルマに目覚め、それを行動に移し、周囲のすべてに気づき、政治・経済・社会・文化において物事を改善しなければなりません。
そうしなければ、それは無責任であるだけでなく、独裁者や政府などに加担することになります。私たちは選挙や納税など様々な形で関わっており、彼らの悪事を止めずに放置すれば、皆をさらに悪い方向へと進ませることになるのです。
不正を告発し、止めることは戒に反することではありません。特に、それが戦争や殺人、窃盗、虚偽、強姦などに関わる場合はなおさらです。道徳・倫理、すなわちダルマの教えは普遍であり最重要なのです。
無限に相互関係し、相対するこの世界において、戦争、核、環境破壊などの重大事項を、たった一人や少数のグループに決定させてはなりません。私たちは共に生き、協力し、より良い世界を築かなければなりません。
