Hiroshima, Fukushima, Futashima

Good morning!

When we sit in zazen, we become still, serene, and safe. When we move, drive, often we see rabbits or squirrels cross in front of our cars, or birds flying along our driving directions. Our sense and motor organs, our cars, our ships are designed to move outward and forward. Thus are our personal and our collective karmas.

Nuclear bombs and power are telling us this truth. The Fukushima nuclear disaster is calculated to be 168 Hiroshima A-bombs by a cesium 137 count, with 100 times more residue after one year. Nuclear power is nothing but nuclear bombs exploding gradually for a long time, thousands, millions years, with its wastes.

We cannot stop it, like a giant tanker cannot be stopped immediately. So global warming and mass extinction go on. The Buddha for the first time was awakened to this truth of karma machines, and how to stop them, even returning to the origin of our problems and sufferings, and reaching the solution in unsurpassed awakening and unconditioned peace.

We must be awakened from the long night of nescience, freed from selfish samsara sufferings, by cultivating the two islands (ニ州: Futashima) of self and dharma – seeing the dharma, the ultimate truth, settling in the dharma body, stopping the ocean of tears and blood, serving and saving the wholly wholesome world.
