Not yours (Na tumhakam)

Good morning!

In our sitting in the early morning, we have beautiful sounds of insects, birds, waterfall, abundant plants, and cool air, even though we are going to have a high temperature of 101, with a heat index of 111, and high humidity.

On the opposite side of the globe, we had the triple tragedy of record earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disaster. We had a 70-year record earthquake here in the States yesterday, and we’re now expecting a hurricane. Natural and human disasters may happen any time, anywhere.

We may have either critical rays or compassionate rain; certainly we need pure prognosis and comprehensive compassion. We can sit and settle in truth, peace, goodness, beauty, harmony, and holiness right here and now.

The Buddha said, “Not yours (na tumhakam).” Nothing is in our possession, power, and pollution in the ultimate truth and in the truthful system. That is why we must be awakened and act wakefully in holy truth and peace always, all places.
