Equipoise (Upekha)

Good morning!

We could see the bright, beautiful dawn before coming here, but now it is overcast.
We can hear the sound of the waterfall running and cars racing incessantly – so is life.

Dripdrops develop into streaks, streams, and into seas – so are samsara sufferings.
Leaks, floods flow into oceans of tears incessantly increasing – so are human minds.

Possession is possessedness. Renunciation (upekhâ) is relief. Sitting is stilling. Settling is satisfaction. Purity is peace. The four meditation stages lead to nirvana and awakening.

Renunciation is the universal refuge and the last resort in total truth, great goodness, bountiful beauty, and pure peace to be freed from limited perspective, priority, and path.
