Settle Stable and Safe Here Now

Good morning!

When we came out of our houses this morning, the world was white in snow. It was very beautiful, but difficult and dangerous to drive. I could not go uphill on the usual road and had to return downhill. It was difficult to brake and stop before the stop sign, letting other cars pass through.

I think you also had some troubles coming here. Once you sit here now, you forget all things in the past and foresee from now on. Just sit completely in nirvana, stopping all the karma wind. You settle stable and safe here and now in unconditioned peace, entirely enjoying it, then in unsurpassed awakening.

The Great Buddha (built in 645) at Todaiji Temple, the right hand is in “giving fearlessness” mudra(se-mui-in:施無畏印 ), the left hand in “giving wish” mudra (yo-gan-in: 与願印).
