Fourfold Limitlessness Life

Good morning!

Now we have rain and chilly air of 47 degrees, down from the 80s. We are reminded of the Buddha wandering throughout his life either rain or shine, cold or hot.

It is important not to limit our life, and to practice in the fourfold limitlessness of friendship, compassion, joy, and equanimity (upekha, lit. throwing away).*

* The fourfold limitlessness is also called the fourfold brahma-vihâra (pure abode or living). The corresponding concrete application is the four embracing matters/dharmas of giving, loving words, beneficial actions, and sameness.
