Wholly Wholesome Way

Good morning!

In our quiet sitting, we can hear the sounds of racing cars and an ambulance siren; but we also hear flowing water and singing birds. There are two ways, artificial and natural, and further mundane and supramundane.

All phenomena originate depending on causes and conditions. All problems and sufferings originate depending on sinful (meaning separated), self-centered causes and conditions.

Our unholy (un-wholly: an- ârya or defiled: âsava) racing and clamoring for matter (material things) and power creates crimes, pollution, wars, nuclear disasters, global warming, mass extinction, etc.

When we sit still, solid, and serene, we stop all these karmas, problems, and sufferings, and go back to the original holy harmony, peace, truth, goodness, and beauty of mind and life.

We know how to get there – the holy (ârya) eightfold path of right (meaning real) view, thinking, speech, action, livelihood, striving, mindfulness, concentration, and prognosis (prajñâ).

This is the fourfold holy (meaning wholly wholesome) truth of suffering, cause and condition of suffering, cessation of suffering, and the path leading to cessation of suffering.

This is the wholly wholesome way anyone can practice and witness anywhere and anytime. So, let us continue this practice in free (meaning friendly or familiar) and full function here and now.

By practice, anyone can live on joy – appreciating holy truth, goodness and beauty in limitless light (amita-âbha), limitless life (amita-âyus), and ambrosia of immortality (amrita).
