Flower Festival: Buddha’s Birthday

Today is the Buddha’s Birthday, also called “Flower Festival” (Hana-matsuri, 花祭

り), when all plants spring up and flowers start blooming in full blossoms – and

when all beings can spring up and bloom in full with nirvana and bodhi (awakening).
