Note: May 5 is Boys’ Day called Tango-no-sekku (Tango: First Horse, later First Five), around this time people hoisted flying fish, formerly over house among greens individually, but now over rivers collectively wishing healthy growth of boys.
March 3 is Girls’ Day called Momo-no-sekku (Momo: Peach), around this time people decorate dolls on stepped stages wishing healthy growth of girls.
