Cultivation Culture

Good morning!

Flowers in spring,

Cuckoo in summer,

The moon in autumn,

Snow in winter,

Clear and cool.

This is Dogen’s poem titled the original face or original nature.

We can “come and see” such culture in holy truth, goodness, and beauty continuously,

if we can cultivate constantly and concentratedly. If we cultivate ourselves with the triple

learnings of sīlasamādhi, and prajñā (backbone or morality, serene solid state or

concentration, insight or prognosis), we can verify the triple treasures of awakening,

awakened truth, true community.
