The following is a post in our listserve about our resident squirrels at home, Spring Ave.:
Saturday I met with the squirrels of Spring Avenue Forest and negotiated a settlement where they will no longer use the attic hatch as a winter time sauna. Amazingly they are real chatterboxes and quite determined negotiators. They demanded an extra source of nutrition if they were to give up their attic hatch sitting, so I had to promise to provide them with something. It turns out that they are quite fond of cat food, so I am getting a bag for them which I’ll store under the kitchen sink to put in a bowl by the rear porch. They assured me they did no damage in the attic.
