True Triple Treasures

Good morning!

The mind moon is almost full. The body is exposed to the golden wind, as leaves are falling. The world is getting cold; it’s almost to the freezing point now.

I visited Japan to meet my brother, recently passed away at almost 80, his family, and my friends. I truly enjoyed the familiar, friendly communities there.

A scarcity of food made him sick, and a contaminated blood infusion contributed to his death, but he found refuge in Buddhism (his sons’ names are: Awakening, Skillful, and Perfection: Satoru, Takumi, and Madoka: 悟、匠、円).

The Buddha saw sufferings: birth, sickness, aging, death, unattained desires, losing beloved ones, meeting hated ones – in short, the five aggregates rampant.

He saw the Brahma-net (the dharma of dependent origination) and the Brahma-residence (the fourfold limitless states of compassion, friendship, joy, and equanimity).

He was besought by the Brahma to go out into the world to share the Dharma and save the world with the Sangha of friendship and familiarity.

Thus, we have the true triple treasures of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha to realize by practicing the way in unconditioned peace and unsurpassed awakening.
