Preparedness Prevents Perplexities

Good morning!

Now we have the beautiful bright morning star and other stars, also beautiful flowers all around us outside and inside, after the autumnal equinox sesshin. We have now almost chilly air – now 47 degrees and going up to 74.

We say, “Preparedness prevents perplexities” (sonaeareba ureinashi:備え有れば憂いなし). With our practice, we must be prepared for wintry winds coming to us any time in peace and truth, tasting amrita, ambrosia of immortality.
