Possessing Karma Is Karma Possessed

Good evening!

We have nice rain with thunderbolts and thunderclaps. Spring storm is good for plants and animals to spring up.

The news from Japan reported that New Yorkers were now enjoying one month earlier blooming of flowers, taking sunbath, and drinking beer.

Dogen made a poem titled “Original Face:”

Flowers in spring,

Cuckoo in summer,

The moon in autumn,

Snow in winter cool and clear.

Aki-wa tsuki

Fuyu yuki saete suzushikarikeri

春は花

夏ほととぎす

秋は月

冬雪さえてすずしかりけり

This is the original state, but humans have evolved and developed their bodies and brains, which have been creating global problematique – global warming, mass extinction, etc.

We need to return to the original states. The Buddha said that we are all karma machines. We possess our karmas, so we are possessed by karmas like the action reaction relation.

Unless we stop karmas, we are going against the wholly wholesome natural life systems. That’s why we need to sit down and stop our karmas.

Then we can witness the true original states and enjoy the wholly wholesome truth, goodness, and beauty, solving our problems and sufferings.
