Harmony-Holiness-Happiness

Good morning!

We had a thick fog this morning with the hazy moon above. On the way here the fog was still there, obscuring one’s view of driving on the highway and covering other landmarks.

When we sit solid, still, and serene, we are in penetrating pure peace and prognosis. When, however, we are in piercing poisonous panic and pain, we lose our pure prognosis.

Today is the tenth anniversary of 911, which caused some groundless wars with deaths and disasters. Have we attained more safety, security, freedom, and rights in our life?

The political, economic, and military complexes have created more me-ism, materialism, and militarism with delusion, greed, and hatred in our selves, states, and civilizations.

Beyond the fogs hovering on the ground or covering the globe, however, is always the brilliant full moon high in the sky, illuminating the globe and the ground.

When we sit in zazen, we are in morality – we do not kill, steal, or lie, and we do no wrong actions with our bodies, mouths, or minds – and in concentration and prognosis.

We can attain “the right dharma eye in the exquisite nirvana minds (正法眼蔵涅槃妙心),” enjoying truth, peace, beauty, goodness, harmony, holiness, and happiness.

We have the holy eightfold path of right view, etc., especially right livelihood (or job) in relation to society and ecology, without engaging in killing, stealing – exploitation, lying.

We hope we can enjoy the beautiful, bright, clear, and calm full moon tonight without fogs, taking ultimate refuge in and becoming the awakened one, dharma, and sangha.
