Mirror Moon Mind

Good morning!

We have now the beautiful, bright full moon high in the sky far above hovering fog, clear and cool. It is free from fogs and full without edges, neither superfluous nor shortfalling, round and perfect like the round clear mirror reflecting the light of truth, illuminating all, and again reflecting all.

The Buddha talked about the story of the king Âdassa, Mirror, who summoned blind people to feel an animal and to tell what they found. They told their partial truth (snake, pillar, wall, etc.) and fought each other for their truths. But the king Mirror could see the total picture of the elephant and reflect on those blind people.

The Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts are now showing Buddhist arts titled “Reflection of the Buddha.” We can appreciate their beauty, but we would rather become buddhas, awakened, with beautiful, brilliant light illuminating and reflecting with full function and freedom from fogs and clouds with clear, calm, coolness, embracing and enlightening all.
