Deceit and Delusion Destroy

Good morning!

In the early morning we can hear the birds’ singing, but already it is hot. The temperature is going to 101 degrees, and the heat index to 111 degrees. Thus, we need to turn on fans or air conditioners. We may think this a small thing, but small things add up to global warming.

This morning I was sent a Washington Post news piece featuring Prof. Koide, who has long been against nuclear power, but only now becoming very popular after the nuclear accident. He said that not only deceivers but also those deceived are responsible for the accident.

Actually we are all responsible: our use of electricity, global warming, allowing nuclear power, etc. resulted in the disaster directly or indirectly. Because we don’t see holy (wholly wholesome) truth and follow the holy path, we create all kinds of problems.

People say we were deceived in starting wars, etc. and that we suffer, but we must take responsibility for our ignorance and inability. Our deception or ignorance is the source of suffering. We’ve heard the story of blind people touching an elephant, and we think we understand it.

Unless we act on it, we do not truly understand it. Using fans and using them poorly, etc. are all connected with our suffering. So, we should not deceive, but also we should not be deceived. We should not simply trust hearsay, habits, and human ways.

Our deceit, delusion, and ignorance lead to wrong actions and wrong results. Both specialists and amateurs must examine their separated, limited knowledge and action. That is why we must sit down, stop our karmas, see holy truth, and live the holy path.
