Seeding Spring: Fruiting Fall

Good morning!

Now we have cool air of autumn and beautiful singing of birds. Autumn is the season of harvesting.

Since I traveled in early summer and could not take care of the vegetable garden at a critical time, I almost couldn’t harvest any produce in the summer, and maybe even into autumn.

The awakened way, however, can be started anytime – seeding, watering, harvesting. We can do zazen anytime and harvest its fruits each time and ever onward.

Unless we sow seeds and water new plants, we can’t harvest. Whenever we sow seeds and water plants, they grow, bloom, and bear fruit.

There is a determined dharma of cause and effect, a definite delight in awakening and action. Only practice makes possible and perfect.
