Can’t Make Any Assumption about Anything, Anywhere, Any Time

Good morning!

This morning a van stopped in front of me, suddenly and unexpectedly, so I had to brake quickly. I saw that the van was waiting for a dog – it managed to move away from the dog, which was following it. Yesterday morning I saw a raccoon crossing in front of my car – carelessly, or maybe carefree.

So, we can not make any assumptions about anything, anywhere, any time, especially when we use unknown technologies, or usher new ones into the unfamiliar world, or understand and undertake a new way, work, and world. We recite the seven intentions at our family sitting. One of them is: Today I will not make any assumptions.

1/4/13

The seven intentions are:

Today we will practice non-harming.

Today we will be helpful.

Today we will further our spiritual practice.

Today we will be impeccable with our words.

Today we will not take anything personally.

Today we will not make any assumptions.

Today we will do our best for the benefit of all beings.
