Ignorance and Inaction

Good morning!

When we sit stable and serene, we can make every day a good day. We can enjoy more flowers and fruits as we have worked for them. But in the world we see and hear a lot of undesirable things. On the way here I saw a lawn sprinkler at Brentwood Square malfunctioning, gushing water for some time now.

I received news from Japan that the gardening soil they sell has been found radiation contaminated, and it is prohibited to sell it from the northern part of Japan. The news also reported that a drought in Eastern Africa is causing famine and starvation. On the way here, I heard on NPR that nuclear waste is burned here, and even imported from Canada and Germany for this purpose.

These things are reported at random, but if radiation falls in our garden and around us, what happens? We cannot continue our efforts or preserve our lives, much less make every day a good day. The awakened way, other religions, and all people must know the cause of all these things, connecting all dots and seeking common cause.

By our ignorance and inaction we must see and hear these problems. So, we must really think whether we should just continue our old habits and ways. If we only imitate and repeat old ways, we just continue or expand old miseries and new sufferings. Facing new situations, we must become awakened and act accordingly.
