Tsuki (月: moon, 都機: full function), 2

Before we arrived here, we could see the morning star high in the sky. Not far from it was the half moon.

We saw the full moon just recently. But, it’s now the half moon, and soon we’ll see the crescent moon and the new moon.

However, the moon itself is always there in the sky, always round, day and night, with all other stars and this globe.

When we sit early in the morning, we hear no noise and sense no nuisance – it’s just quiet and peaceful.

When the day breaks, we encounter all kinds of noise, turmoil, and turbulence; we succumb to delusion, greed and anger.

But when we sit, we calm down; we are not at a loss, we are unmoved by small or superficial things.

We just merge into the whole world like the full moon, beyond the half, crescent, or new moon.

We find the entire world in ten directions clear and calm just like a clear crystal ball.

There are not many moons, but just one moon. The whole universe is just one moon – perfect, pure, and penetrating, beyond turbulence and turbidity.

This is full function, the mind moon, the free, awakened Buddha mind.
