Good evening!
We have sunny spring-like days these days in the natural world, but we have
been having wintry winter-like periods for centuries in the human world.
The Buddha foresaw human habits and hubris acting in the self-survival instinct,
and so became a Bodhisattva to save the world from destruction.
Civilization starts from the triple poisons of delusion, desire, and divisiveness,
then the triple maladies of me-ism, materialism, and militarism.
Civilization (urbanization) is for matter and power with the five calamities of
delusion, bondage, discrimination, exploitation, and extermination.
He proposed the triple learnings of prognosis, concentration, and morality,
thus the triple treasures of awakened ones, truths, and true community.
Culture is for natural, limitless mind and life with the five blisses of awakening,
freedom, equality, love, and peace.
Culture in cultivation by sitting, stopping karmas, seeing and serving truths, is
the fundamental solution to suffering – individual, social and ecological.
