Living in Calmness and Clarity

Good morning!

Today is the first day of higan (彼岸: the yonder shore), the autumn equinox, with equal day and night and heat and chill, which expresses equanimity or nirvana.

Can we make the whole year neither hot nor cold? We cannot change the movement and the relationship of the earth and the sun.

When I walked around the room, the candle flame moved. When I stopped and sat, it stopped moving, illuminating the room in calmness and clarity.

We can live in calmness and clarity all year round and for our whole life. We can make our world calm and clear, in unconditioned peace and awakening.
