Trim and Transplant

Good evening!

Now we’re having hot dry days, so it is very difficult to transplant. Small saplings are easy to move because they are vigorous, easily rooted, and it’s easy to supply sufficient water and nutrition to their small bodies. It is difficult for bigger plants to get rooted, and difficult to supply sufficient nutrients to their bigger bodies. There is a way to cope with this problem: cutting branches and even trunks short so that nutrients will be distributed to the trimmed bodies. In this way plants become more vigorous and eventually grow thicker and stronger.

So it is with our practice. If we want to start a new way, transplanted in the new awakened world and way, we must vigorously strive to get truly rooted, cutting branches and twigs, activities and trivia, to supply sufficiently and to concentrate in the new world and way. Otherwise our leaves wither, our branches dry and even trunks die – there is no way to attain the new way, and all our activities eventually evaporate. So, we must live concentrated and continue vigorously in our practice in limitless life, light, liberation, love, and learning.
