Prostration
No winter-grass being seen,
A white heron in snowfield
Hides itself in
Its own form.

Note: A white heron merges in white snow expresses one’s merging into the
Dharma dhâtu, Truth realm, True form, and unifying with it without separation
(sin) as also compared to white snow on silver tray or a crow in the dark night.
Prostration (五体投地:gotai-touchi, throwing the body of five – trunk and four
limbs – down to the earth) is to throw the whole being to the mother earth and
the true nature, true form, original form – becoming one with the Dharma.
