Morning Rain, Morning Sitting

Good morning!

The morning rain has refreshed the beautiful green, the surrounding atmosphere, the singing birds, the sound of the waterfall.

The morning sitting renews all of them and us in purity, penetration, and freedom, right here and now.

Wholly Wholesome Way

Good evening!

We have now very high temperatures and humidity, but after sweating and taking a shower, I feel very good.

Zen life is not only sitting, but samu. We do samu whole-heartedly – wholly sweating, wholly breathing.

I cut down a tree, feeling as if I were like cutting my arm off at the elbow as the second patriarch cut his arm to show his determination for the awakened way.

Even though it felt like losing my own elbow, the tree was cut to give more sunlight to our vegetable garden and our future life way.

That tree was planted not in the whole perspective and wholesome priority as needed today.

So, every day let us put ourselves into sitting or samu, wholly sitting, and wholly breathing, with our whole hearts and minds.

Wholly Wholesome Work

Good morning!

Every morning we see flowers, vegetables, trees growing naturally and joyfully in truth, goodness, and beauty.

But humans tend to be shortsighted, shortcircuited, thus suffering in samsara, vicissitudes, as illustrated in the nuclear disaster.

The awakened way is to become awakened in this truth and to cultivate in order to become wholly wholesome, verifying truth, goodness, and beauty.

Thus, we can cultivate and verify the great mind, mature mind, and joyful mind in our individual, social, and ecological systems.
