I have been using a hunting hat I received as a gift for a while. This morning I happened to feel hooks at the front and found that it opens. I find wearing it in this fashion gives fresher, finer, freer, and fuller function.
When we practice for a while we find fresher, freer, fuller function. Dogen said, “Even though this dharma is abundantly endowed with everyone, it does not develop without cultivation; it is not attained without verification.
The awakened way is to become awakened to the fresher, finer, freer, and fuller function in our living and life. It is waking up from the long night of nescience and working with fresh, fine, free, and full function.
