On the way here I listened to a PRI program about physical structures at the sites of disasters and devastations. A New YorkUniversityprofessor said that we must be concerned about social structures also. We must also be concerned about spiritual structures – in fact, this is even more fundamental and important.
The society separated with sickness (self-centeredness) can neither sustain nor survive. The world with wholly wholesomeness can neither wither nor wane. Confucius said that societies can dismiss armies and even food, but not trust. Unless we have trust in the wholly wholesome way, we cannot thrive and survive.
