Good morning!
Now we have the full moon, which expresses the Buddha mind and the Buddha world; nothing lacking and nothing extraneous; all fulfilled totally and perfectly.
Ordination (受戒/得度: tokudo) means fulfilled like the full moon. We see the new moon, the half moon, and the full moon, but always there is the full moon beneath its changes.
When we take vows to embrace all beings, good virtues, no vice; the triple treasure; and no killing, etc., we are already beyond the small self like the great ocean beyond bubbles.
Our practice advances through the cycle of praxis (行持道環:gyôji-dôkan) of aspiration, action, awakening, and unconditioned peace, and again aspiration, action, awakening, etc..
Thus we find the full moon innate in ourselves and in the whole world – the awakened mind becoming the awakened world well unified and undefiled.
We find more and more the seamless single world between the self and other, birth and death, here and there, now and then, time and space, etc. – simply in šunyatâ, emptiness.
When we sit solid and serene, we reach the seamless state beyond the small self and karma world, becoming dharma itself, and are in the dharma world
Here is the perfect unity of cultivation and verification or practice and attainment. The full moon is always here and now, transparent like a clear crystal ball.
