Good morning!
The morning star is always distinctively bright. When I first saw it this morning, it was already pretty high. The very thin moon was just up above the horizon. While driving I saw it disappearing and appearing. Within a day or so, the distance and direction between the morning star and the moon changed a lot.
We call our mind moon “will horse, mind monkey” because it seldom stops, ceaselessly jumping and jerking, straying and sacrificing. Because of this we must tame our minds to see truth and settle in peace, so that we can live in wholly wholesome health and happiness.
All creatures are karma machines, in different degrees and directions. Civilization and culture are two directions: the former inclines toward fame and fortune (power and matter) and the latter toward harmony and happiness (life and liberation, truth and peace).
In the former, everything becomes monkey business; possessed by small self, we eventually fall into hell with all (from bubble to bubble). In the latter, anything can become hare holiness; liberated by truth, we eventually rise into heaven with all (from ocean to ocean).
Possession is possessedness. The root cause is a self-survival system in short-sight and short-circuit, where perspective and priority are lost. The Self-survival system sets humans into hegemony in its race, lost in delusion, attachment, and aversion into demise with all.
Everyone thinks, “I am free.” “I” is delusion. “Am” is delusion. “Free” is delusion. Delusion makes monkey business. How can the karma clinch be avoided? Avoid karma itself, just stop action. Sit still and stop karma, habit, habit-machine, habit body, mind, and the world.
We are at the fork in the road to either life or death, immortality in infinite intimacy or mortality in mass extinction. The bubble-like life is the source of suffering; the ocean-like life is the source of sanctity of limitless life, light, liberation, and love.
Note: Refer to the story of the hare in the moon with monkey and fox.
