San-do (Three Steps)

Good evening!

A moment of a spring evening is worth a thousand pieces of gold, it is said. Now we are surrounded by bountiful, beautiful flowers.

Why do humans have suffering? The Buddha told us about the three steps (san-do, ??, lit. three ways): delusion, action, suffering. Flowers have no delusion and no action, so no suffering.

We are now causing suffering to plants, animals, and the global life system. So we must sit, stop our karma and delusion. Then we can stop suffering and enjoy the beautiful world.

In this way we may be able to decrease suffering, avoiding our human catastrophe and the sixth mass extinction.
