Wholly Wholesome World or Small Selfish Sphere

Good morning!

We have a very calm, cool, and peaceful atmosphere after our sittings, though outside we have very dry, hot, and hard weather – hard for plants and animals. Even though we are already officially in fall, we have very hot dry days, as it takes time to warm and cool the earth.

Don’s family in Colorado Springsare evacuating from their renovated home, because of the forest fire. Hundreds of thousands of people are still evacuating from the nuclear disaster devastated area even more than a year later – many homeless, jobless, foodless from radiation contamination.

Even though the Fukushima nuclear disaster still continues, the prime minister announced a cold shutdown safe “state” last year – even with 13,000 mSv radiation detected at No. 1 reactor, No. 2 still spewing, and No. 4 reactor worrying the whole world due to its poorly supported fuel pool 100’ above ground.

Seismologists have said that we are in a seismic active period, and that more and stronger earthquakes will occur after the 3/11 record earthquake of magnitude 9 – in megaquake time. The prime minister irresponsibly said he would take responsibility for restarting two Oi reactors, which are probably located on a live fault.

So, last Friday hundreds of thousands of people protested at his official residence. People, mostly young, but also old, men and women, and children closed the road to the Oi plant before its restart, even during a harsh rain. A report said that a girl chained herself to the iron bar of the front gate.

Japanese people called the movement the Hydrangea Revolution, as Japan is in its rainy season. This is a very special phenomenon, as people usually keep reserved and calm. There should have been a Hydrogen Revolution – not only inJapan, but all over the world – when the hydrogen bomb exploded.

Japan started its nuclear program with the view of possibly producing nuclear bombs. Due to the Ron-Yasu (Reagan and Nakasone, who started the national nuclear program) friendship, enabling the country to produce plutonium, it is now possibly to make more than 50,000 nuclear bombs – the real reason for the restart.

The most imminent, worst possible disaster the world faces is a nuclear one, either bombs or plants. So, even conservatives who wanted nukes in the past now want to abolish nukes for fear of terrorist attacks, natural disasters, or human mishaps. Even without these we discriminate, damage, and destroy with nuclear power, which is beyond human control.

It is clear that nuclear proponents are for private “money,” and opponents are for public “life,” as clearly seen between riot police and protesters, and other case relations. When we consider other species, generations, and aspects of life and living, genuine nuclear proponents are limitlessly close to a negligible 0%.

With nuclear or any other problems, we must see whether we are for the wholly wholesome aspiration and action in the wide world, or small selfish delusion and desire in the small sphere. The awakened way is to see from the dharma, universal truth and law, not from selfish interest and intent. This is the truth and ethic we must see and live.
