Actual Practice Penetrates through Bodies, Minds and the World

Good morning!

Early this morning we had mist and dense dew, and we could enjoy the birds singing and the morning star. We are going to have a temperature of 103 degrees today, with a heat warning.

Last night these rooms were packed with forty people from the Interfaith Partnership. They were very much interested and tuned into the practice of sitting.

This morning we are very sparse, though some intended to join us. Dogen said, “Walking through mist, unwittingly our robes become wet with mist.”

Only by actually walking through mist can we enjoy the thick mist and dense dew, enjoy beautiful birds’ singing and the bright morning star.

Only our actual continuous practice can penetrate through our bodies, minds, and the world, and make every day a good day.
